The SOMA Philosophy.
Twelve truths we build from. A refusal to replicate harm, and a return to what matters. These principles guide not only what we make - but how we work. This Philosophy is living. It will grow as we do.
1. Safety is a human right.
You were never meant to earn it, prove it, or survive to deserve it. Safety is the baseline - the beginning - the thing that should have always been there.
2. Dignity is care.
We were not made to only endure. Recovery must be met with dignity, beauty and understanding.
3. Beauty is not frivolous.
It restores dignity, softens shame and makes recovery visible. Beauty held with care is a quiet form of repair.
4. We start with the body.
Not the mind. Not the task. Not the story. The body is the beginning.
5. Softness is strength.
Gentleness is not weakness, it’s power — because it creates safety. It builds things that last.
6. This is not urgent.
If it feels urgent, we slow down. Urgency is the voice of a nervous system under threat. We do not work from that place.
7. Work should never cost your body.
SOMA is not built on burnout. It is built by people who listen to their limits — and who are trusted to honour them.
8. Understanding changes everything.
When we understand our trauma and stress responses, we stop blaming ourselves — and we stop fearing them. Clarity calms the system. It gives us something solid to stand on.
9. We move in waves.
Healing is not linear. Rhythm is allowed. You can rest and still be moving forward
10. We do not glorify exhaustion.
Tired is not a virtue. We honour our limits. We do not push past them.
11. You do not need to be healed to begin.
Start where you are — mid-story, foggy, undone. SOMA meets you there.
12. We build differently. On purpose.
This is not a new brand. It’s a new way. We are not replicating harm. We are making something else.
How We Work
These principles aren’t just ideas. They shape how we operate.
SOMA works on a four-day week. We don’t rush orders. We don’t push past limits. We move in waves—honoring rest, slowness, and the rhythm required to build something that lasts.
We scale deliberately. We protect our capacity. We prioritize care over speed.
But we also understand urgency when it’s real. If you’re rebuilding safety and need support sooner, reach out. We’ll do what we can.
When your order arrives, it was made by people who were rested, respected, and not asked to sacrifice their wellbeing for your calm.
This is what it looks like to build a company that refuses to replicate harm.
It’s slower. It’s smaller. It’s intentional.
And it works.
